An Introduction to Conic Sections
Conic sections are found by the intersection of a right circular cone and a plane. Watch the video to understand how each of the conic sections are formed.
Conic sections are found throughout the real-world in nature, art, and architecture. Click on the image of the St. Louis Arch (a parabola) to learn about some of the occurences of the conic sections.
